Podiatrists treat a variety of foot and ankle conditions, including calluses, ingrown toenails, heel spurs, arthritis, congenital foot and ankle deformities, and arch problems. They also treat foot and leg problems associated with diabetes and other diseases. Some podiatrists spend their time performing surgery, which can include foot and ankle reconstruction, correcting structural deformities, including bunions, hammertoes, painful flat foot and high arch deformity, or bone spurs. Outside the surgical field, some podiatrists may practice a subspecialty such as sports medicine, pediatrics, dermatology, radiology, geriatrics, or diabetic foot care. Podiatric physicians are the only doctors to receive specialized medical and surgical training, and board certification in the care of the lower extremity. Here at Ortho Louisville, regardless of your needs, we strive to provide the highest quality of care to ensure a successful recovery that gets you back on your feet.
