Erik Edwards is a professional golfer on the Korn Ferry Tour, a PGA developmental circuit. In 2025, Erik suffered a fluke knee injury while playing basketball on vacation—a complete patellar tendon tear in his right knee—and the injury left the future of this PGA hopeful up in the air.

That’s when Erik turned to Dr. Tyler Keller and the Ortho Louisville team. Now, his future looks brighter than ever.

Erik recently captured the 107th Kentucky Open title with a dramatic final birdie on the 18th hole at Indian Hills Country Club. He entered the final round sitting at 8-under par after two rounds.

As the final round unfolded, the leaderboard continued to tighten, with several players making runs at the championship. Erik was playing in the second-to-last group and was tied at the top when he reached the 18th hole, setting up a dramatic finish.

Erik’s playing partner for the day and co-leader made par on the closing hole, leaving the door open for Erik to seize the lead. With the title on the line, Edwards delivered when it mattered most. He rolled in a birdie to bring his final 54-hole total to 13-under par.

There was still one golfer in the final group within reach of a tie, but he left a 40-foot putt just short to make par. Erik was watching from the sidelines, with his family instantly embracing him in celebration as they realized he had just won the Jack Ryan Trophy.
